Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden on Tuesday was photographed holding handwritten notes with Sen. Kamala Harris’ name at the top along with a set of talking points about her.
The Senator from California previously ran for the top spot on the ticket, and at one point sat atop the polls.
Senator Harris suspended her campaign on December 3, 2019, due to finances, saying “I can’t fund my own campaign, I am not a billionaire”.
However, the California Democrat did have some firework moments, primarily at the expense of Joe Biden. The biggest moment was on the topic of busing. In response to Biden’s 1970’s opposing busing, Harris said “There was a little girl in California who was a part of the second class to integrate her public schools and she was bused to school every day,” she said. “And that little girl was me.”
But as the photographed talking points mention, the former Vice President does not hold grudges.
The other talking points photographed were
- Campaigned with me & Jill
- Great help to campaign
- Great respect for her.
This photograph comes after Politico released a story of former Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut, a member of Biden’s team vetting potential vice presidential picks, was not totally on board.
Concerns over previous comments including public criticism of Biden working with segregationist senators.
Biden was shocked by her on-stage attack and noted a good relationship with Harris. The previous goodwill has prevailed and Biden might see the talented debater as a future asset.
Biden said after his speech in Wilmington on Tuesday that he will choose his vice presidential running mate next week.
