Kayleigh McEnany’s is the fourth press secretary of the Trump administration. The former CNN political analyst, and 2012 public supporter of the Obama “birther movement”, proceeded Sean Spicer, Sarah Sanders, and Stephanie Grisham in the office.
Her tenure began with a simple promise: “I will never lie to you”. During her first press conference, she made that stern declaration to the media.
Mrs. McEnany has had moments in which she has promptly responded to “gotcha” questions and has correctly clarified the course of the narrative.
None more famously than when she responded to a comment she made on Fox News that “President Trump will not allow coronavirus to enter this country”.
She quickly corrected this by saying it was a broad question about the travel ban and followed up with quoting and citing the numerous media outlets and politicians that also incorrectly predicted the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, after this bright moment of calculated defiance, her responses seem to be less direct now.
On Thursday afternoon, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany briefed the White House press corps and Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst captured this amazing shot of the press secretary’s briefing binder:
Readiness and preparation is certainly not an issue for Mrs. McEnany. She is ready and often finds an answer for even the most criticized comments generated by certain administration positions, however, she finds herself in a position of constant defense.
With President Trump making changes to his campaign team, and even conservative polls showing a large and growing deficit of support for re-election, navigating the media has become critical.
Kayleigh McEnany was named press secretary on April 7th 2020.
