Walmart: Drive-in Movies and Summer Camp
Stepping outside of normal big box fare Walmart will be offering Virtual Summer Camps and Drive-in Movies. If you are looking for help keeping you and the kids occupied this may be just the ticket.
Camp by Walmart
Camp by Walmart, a virtual summer camp, will be available starting July 8, 2020. 50 free activities hosted by a variety of celebrities will be available at the launch. Drew Barrymore, Neil Patrick Harris, LeBron James, Idina Menzel and Todd Oldham will host virtual events.
The Great Family Challenge, Neil’s Charades, talent shows, arts and crafts are part of the line-up. Walmart says it will have 200 more activities throughout the summer.

Starting in August, 160 Super Walmart Center parking lots will host two different family-friendly socially distanced drive-in nights.
These family-friendly nights will include a hit movies, special appearances from filmmakers anc celebrities with concessions delivered to customer vehicles. More information is available here: walmartdrive-in.com

Offering the free Drive-in and Virtual Summer Camp experiences is a perfect fit for the Walmart marketing strategy as it battles Amazon for market share. These new entertainment experiences help build a connection between customers and the Walmart brand. It also demonstrates a corporate citizenship of giving back to its customers that leaves Amazon in the dust.
